We are making a Signs of Spring list over here. We think it is Spring because:
- we wear rubber boots
- we don’t need to zip up coat in the afternoon
- the famous “Robert H. Smith field puddle” is here. This is something all Julia’s classmates are fascinated with, in particular it’s deepness.
- there is less and less snow in the front yard.
We are still hoping to see a Robin Redbreast.
Today is Julia’s dad’s birthday. He recently had a operation on his foot, so we made a special foot pillow for his birthday present. Julia drew the picture on an old linen skirt I had. She embroidered as much as she could, and I finished it off last night. The picture is of her visiting her dad with his sore foot.

I have an evening of fresh pea soup, reading and hopefully completing the sock I started on the weekend. I know these sound like winter activities, but Spring is really, truly showing some parts of itself.
