that flew by…

My work week isn’t technically done until after class tomorrow, but Friday got here quickly.
Tonight, I’m a lazy bones jones and we are having  pasta dinner, store-bought sauce topped off with veggies from our freshbox.  We got some new type of avocodo in the freshbox and we all think it is wierd. I don’t know why I believe Haas was [...]

another week begins

Yesterday evening marked the first night of the Julia week.  We didn’t have any major disagreements last night, only my slight harping that she didn’t write down a single book she read last week with her dad. I told her she needed to read 10. This is unfair, but after reading Malcolm Gladwell’s Outliers The [...]

knit pics

I finished the bainbridge scarf (available here) weeks ago, but haven’t shared the pictures until today.
Here is how you are supposed to wear it.

This is how I wear it, (usually I am smiling.)

I just hennaed my hair using lush cacau red. I am waiting for Dave to come home, he’s gonna love it!

I’ve been searching for inspiration for awesome crab puppet design and I feel a little lost. The puppet needs to be controlled by one 8 year old boy. I have an image of him walking on stage, holding a rod and the crabs are hanging off of it walking as he moves. I also think [...]

One of my most favorite things at work is the circulation folder. It is a file of all the up and coming art exhibitions the world over,  new publications, artist work, paper samples, etc, etc… The circ file moved me to check out itinerart . I’ve spend nearly an hour [...]

I presented two groups of children identical stories in my Myths, Mysteries and Legends class, and on Saturday the final vote was held for which story we will perform on March 14th.
Class #1 opted for “The Moon Prince” an african legend about a boy who is born with a full moon on his chest and [...]

brrr.

Do you know how hard it is to take photos outside when you are enjoying free pea soup, hot chocolate and then jigging with your daughter? Impossible. Also..the friends we were with were too busy doing the same, that I have no proof of the excellent time we had at an outdoor winter festival.
I am [...]

Julia bravely returned to school with only a few scabs left on her face.  If someone says, “ew…gross,” she will simply reply “you should have seen them last week.”
Tomorrow is an exciting day as Festival du Voyageur opens!  I called it “the red toque festival” for years. Sadly, I did not follow through on my [...]

Julia has the chicken pox. They started last week when she was with her dad. So, she is past the calamine lotion and ultra itchy stage. She is in the gross scabbby stage. Which means she can’t go to school because she is embarrassed about the scabs on her face, but she has tons of [...]
