I didn’t finish dad’s sock, so I sent him one with a note that said, “I know you have two feet, you’ll get the other next week”. The funny (not-so-funny) perhaps the right word is ironic thing about it is that he called yesterday to say he met with his foot doctor and he’s going [...]

Dad’s birthday is tomorrow!
Also, on my mind is thinking about art appreciation series for infants. I visited the volunteers, staff and friends at the gallery yesterday and we got talking about when I go back to work. I want to start some tours that help parents understand how their child’s visual senses are developing. What [...]

Macy is NOT allergic to wool. In fact, she loves it! She’s a cloth diapered girl, so wool longies are a necessity around here. I used the Sheepy Pant pattern for the following scrappies. The pants are made out of left-over wool scraps from other knitting projects. Since reading about the horrific way some wool [...]

2. Scrappy longies. I LOVE them, the ends took forever to weave in, but well worth it.

I knit up my first longies (following the Sheepy knits pattern.)
I used Nashua Snowbird and the colour is bright plum. It is super soft.
I made one mistake when I made the drawstring hole at the back instead of the front. Instead of adding a drawstring I added
ribbon. I am so excited to see them on [...]

I spent a long time in a medical waiting room yesterday. I’m so glad I brought my wool and needles.
Here is the newest knit for Macy. I used Nashua Superwash, following Nashua Cardigan pattern in their Bloom book. It recommended two skeins and I only used one. So, I’ll be making the poncho from the [...]

I finished knitting Pel! Here’s a quick shot of it:
it is a bit unflattering on my pregnant frame, but it will be the only large woolen item in my closet that will still fit me into the last weeks of pregnancy this Fall. Another knitter called it a blanket with arms, and so it is, [...]
